Participation of Hyperspectral Research Lab in IGARSS 2013

IEEE International Geoscience and Remote Sensing Symposium (IGARSS) was held in Melbourne, Australia from July 21-26, 2013. The aim of the symposium was "Building a Sustainable Earth through Remote Sensing".

With over 1,360 participants from 66 countries, 1025 oral papers and 448 poster presentations, it was an excellent occasion for knowledge exchange, the exploration and discussion of topics related to 'Building a Sustainable Earth through Remote Sensing' and to catching up with old and new colleagues from around the globe.

On behalf of the Hyperspectral Remote Sensing Laboratory of the Institute of Remote Sensing and Digital Earth (RADI), Chinese Academy of Sciences four researchers presented their papers there:

1)      Dr. Yang Hang presented: “SPATIAL SCALE ISSUE IN TEMPERATURE AND EMISSIVITY SEPARATION FROM THERMAL HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGER”

2)      Dr. Huang Changping presented: “DECOMPOSITION OF VOLUME SCATTERING, POLARIZED  LIGHT AND CHLOROPHYLL FLUORESCENCE BY IN-SITU POLARIZATION MEASUREMENT”

3)      Mr. Muhammad Hasan Ali Baig presented: “COMPARISON OF MNDWI AND DFI FOR WATER MAPPING  IN FLOODING SEASON”

4)      Ms. Duan Yini presented: “A NOVEL METHOD OF DESTRIPING FOR AIRBORNE  HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGE”

PhD candidate Mr. Muhammad Hasan Ali Baig also attended the IGARSS 2013 Summer School from July 18-19, 2013 organized at the new campus of RMIT University, Melbourne.

Apart from the scientific activity, Hyperspectral Research Group also took part in IGARSS Futsal Soccer Game on Wednesday, July 24.
